Use this as a signal for dyslexic readers
I work with 10 year olds who are dyslexic with no sense of text organization. I use this for teaching them to track text. They use a blank sheet of paper under each line of text and I click when it’s time to go to the next line. (Previously I was knocking on the table. This is better for my knuckles.) I will ask “What is that first/last word?” This method has been really helpful for them. I think of it like those old records that read the story aloud and would have a tone when it was time to turn the page.
