Self cleaning works great & my dogs like it.
My dogs usually hate slicker brushes but the beads on the end of the bristles maked it comfortable for them. Neither of my dogs have an undercoat but this brush got lots of loose hair off them leaving their coat very smooth. The self-clening button worked great & the plastic cover will keep the bristles from getting misaligned.

Works phenomenal on one of my cats but not the other.
I got this brush to use when grooming my cats, both of which have undercoats but 2 very different fur types. This slicker brush works phenomenal for one of my cats. So well that I could almost replace every other grooming tool in my arsenal with just this one brush. It goes through fur so easily & smoothly & that button which pushes the plate down moving the fur down the bristles so you just have to gather it off the plate is a gem! Anyone who has had to clean out grooming tools without this feature knows just how aggravating it is to have to try to get all that fur out time & time again as you groom your pet. The tines on the brush have the tiny balls coating the metal tips which is a definite plus & must have & makes it much more comfortable & more massaging as opposed to scraping & pulling so it gets my cats approval as well which without that my cat will not let it anywhere near him. That being said it did not work at all on my other cats fur. Really, not at all. If I had only the one cat I would have thought this brush was useless which is rather ironic because it really does work phenomenal on the other cat. That being said while I think that this slicker brush is a great value for the money it may not work on every animal. It is marketed towards dogs though & the cat that it worked so good on does have more dog like fur than cat fur for some reason. It’s very soft but more the consistency of dog fur.

Makes Brushing My Cats So Much Easier
I have a short-haired dog with a wiry coat, a short-haired cat & and long-haired cat. I’ve never had this type of a pet brush where you push the button, the bristles retract & the pet hair pops right off. It’s genius! This brush works well on both of my cats, especially my long-haired cat, but not so much on my dog. I think it’s because she has short, somewhat coarse hair. So I don’t see it as a fault with the brush. But my cats love to be brushed with it. My cat was being playful in the photo where she was biting the brush. I really like that it came with a plastic cover for the bristles. It makes it easy to store without damaging the bristles. It’s a light-weight brush, the handle feels nice in my hand, and it’s easy to use.

Works like a charm
The handle has a good grip and feels solid, not flimsy like some cheaper ones I’ve tried.It’s great for both long and short hair; I even tested it on my neighbor’s short-haired lab, and it worked just as well. Overall, this brush makes grooming faster, cleaner, and way less of a struggle. Highly recommend for anyone tired of chasing fur tumbleweeds around the house.

Brushing a shedding dog’s hair can be messy, but this brush makes it a breeze! I have been through several de-shedding brushes and combs, and have never seen one that had a hair dislodge button that pushed the collected hair right off into a nice bunch that you can just pick up and throw away!
