My kitties prefer this type of scratcher
These are pretty sturdy scratchers. They shed a bit, but that’s to be expected from sisal. I’ve never used the “door hanging” feature, as my cats prefer these scratchers just laying flat on the floor, but with 3 cats scratching on them daily, they typically last about 6-8 months or so. For the price, I think that’s very reasonable.

Wonderful Scratcher
My (neighbor’s) cat—who insists on living with me part-time—started lying at the bottom of my carpeted stairs and clawing away! After a long search on Amazon, I settled on this. Oh my goodness, it worked! I don’t hang it, but have it lying next to the step-of-kitty-desire. It is small enough, that I automatically overstep it on my way down the stairs. I taught him to use it by placing his paws on it and working his legs in a scratching motion on it. It took only about three tries, and suddenly he was whaling away at it! He loves this thing! He loves the sisal rope and he loves the carpet too. He’s a great big cat and, while small, this fits him just fine. He not only scratches on it, he sleeps beside it using it as a little pillow, he stretches out on it, he sits on it and looks like he’s on a little kitty-sized skateboard. I like that it has the option of hanging—which is actually part of why I was attracted to it—I just haven’t bothered to use it that way as it is working out so well as “the last stair.”

Tough and durable.
I mounted this pad on the back door, under the door knob, where our cat was prone to scratch to let us know he wanted in. Really saved the surface of the door. The last pad lasted over a year. The cat really liked to make noise with it.

My Cats favorite
These are amazing I screw them to the doorway in the kitchen and then turn them around when the first side is done…my cats do not scratch any of my furniture or any thing else . These are theirs and the love them . Been using these for a good 14 years now. So glad when I find them on Amazon . Please keep them in stock.

The cats love it
These are great to have in various places to discourage bad behavior with furniture. We have one in the bathroom, in the laundry room, and in our motorhome. We also have cat trees but these are very effective to have in areas with little space, or as an extra. My cats love them and use them more often than the cat trees.

strange odor
although the sisal rope is natural, the particle mounting board has a strange odor and the product came with a foramladehyde step sticker on it. i returned it, paying $ postage
