Tough material
Really like this toy. We have three big dogs and one is a chewer, for sure. The pillow is lasting, the fabric handles on the sides have been chewed off, unfortunately. But normal dogs probably wouldn’t eat the handles like mine did. Good product.

Great Toy
It’s a bit tough/hard for my GSD puppy to bite down on this but I’m sure that will change as he grows. He’s still able to hold it with his mouth and tug at the ends. Some strings are already coming out and fraying but I’m not surprised since his little teeth as so sharp that I can’t complain or blame it on the toy.

Not for large mastiffs
I have a Cane Corso so finding durable toys is hard. This lasted 2 days I believe. There is stuffing in the middle so it didn’t work too well!

Very good tug target, but not a chew toy.
Trained a Malinois pup to adult with one of these. It’s very resilient to bite training and an extreme value.This is not a chew toy. A strong chewer will destroy this bite target in one day if unattended.Puppies will try to bite the handles and may need a lot of feedback to bite the pillow instead.As most trainers know, you have to let the dog “win” periodically and take the bite target away from you. This is where some judgement comes in. DO let your dog celebrate their tug of war win, bite it more, whip it around, and run with it. Otherwise, they will get bored and give up. Do NOT let your dog abuse the bite target and try to cut the handles (grinding with molar teeth) or pull seams out. IMO, it’s okay to sacrifice the red decorative fabric around the seam.Target is a bit too thick for < 35 lb dogs with a shepherd head anatomy. Try offering the narrow side of the pillow. They will play better once they can get a good bite.Careful with teething puppies. If you're too aggressive with tugging they'll associate tooth discomfort / tooth loss with the game.

Lasted less then 10 minutes
I will caveat my negative review by saying my dog is a bit of a beast. He is an 85 pound working line GSD that chews down trees and carries 40 pound logs around the woods for fun. He destroyed this thing in about 10 minutes. The middle of it tore open and was losing stuffing and then the right strap broke while we were playing. The lesson is i need to find a real K9 bite training supply store and buy the item. With that said i have stuff i have bought at the grocery store that has lasted a couple of months. It’s not the end of the world. He is tough on things but if you are thinking this is a good product for a high drive working dog you probably need to look for some real training products designed to take withstand the amount of effort a working dog will put into it.

Exceeded my expectations
One of my dogs specifically LOVES to play tug-of-war, but he was constantly ruining the soft stuffed toys. I came across this listing one day and It is one of the BEST toys ive ever purchased.Typically when a new toy comes into the house the dogs are excited and obssesed the first day, and then dont care about it the next. This toy is a WIN WIN WIN!! Even my Rottie mix that typically doesnt play tug is fighting to try and play with this. Ive never seen my crazy ‘tug-fueled’ Beagle mix more excited about a toy. Im going to have to buy multiples of these because its only been a few days and all 3 dogs are playing ROUGH. Not only that, its also fun for the humans! The more interest you build in the toy the more and more your dog will love it; Teaching a solid “drop it” or “out” can really help. It boosts confidence and helps you bond with your dog while playing. Whats better than that?!

Our dog LOVES it!
Our dog has only had this new toy for 10 minutes & he absolutely LOVES it! He is having SO MUCH fun playing with our 9 year old son!So far, it seems extremely durable since it only takes our dog about 10 minutes to chew through most dog toys. You can’t really beat the price for such a good quality dog toy.Our dog loves playing tug of war with our son. It’s very easy to use since it has handles on both sides. Overall, we are very happy with our dogs new chew/tug of war toy.
