Ticks Attached and Engorged on Dog’s Face and Under the Collar – New/Fresh Collar On for Only 2 Days
This is the first time I’ve left a one star review. This product simply does not work for my dog. I live in the Northeast in an area with an abundance of deer ticks and dog ticks. I had high hopes that this would “deter” ticks, as their description states. It does not. The collar was fresh out of the package and had been on for only two days. I THOROUGHLY check our dog throughout the day. Our poor dog had attached ticks all over, including at the corner of his eye and on his muzzle – that one was engorged – yuck! The point being, the collar is not far from his eye or his muzzle, so you know protection was not offered further away on his body. Upon taking off the collar (since it offered no protection), there was a live tick underneath it on his neck! I really wanted this to work for ticks. Please, don’t even bother. We all just want our pets to be comfortable and safe. I cannot speak to the effectiveness of this product for fleas, because that has not been a problem where I live.

Good product for a fair price
First off i want to say i normally don’t use flea collars as my main protection but was looking for extra protection against ticks when out. I’d had a few on me and it is extremely difficult to see them on my husky malamute mix.I decided to try this and so far i haven not seen any on her. It comes with easy instructions although most of it is self explanatory. I cut the tabs with a pair of scissors to separate it as pictured, then waited a at least a half an hour to wash my hands to check if i had any negative reaction to being in contact with it. Once i was comfortable i didn’t i places it on my dog. It is fairly thin witch made it easier to fit through her very thick coat. The band was also fairly easy to tighten to an appropriate length before cutting the extra length off. If you have a dog that will not sit still I’d suggest measuring it, marking the length and not cutting while on your dog. It cut easily with kitchen sisccors . I had ordered a Medium as she’s only a year and 65lb so it works size wise with a lot of extra room, im sure i could’ve went with a large as well but I’m only using this as an extra protection along w my normal monthly flea/tick/worm medication. There was a little bit of dust on my fingers after opening but not a lot compared to others I’ve used over the years. I could smell a slight order when opening the silver package containing the collar but no smell after a few minutes or any smell while my dog was wearing it. It could be the plastic I had been smelling witch is why i have it 5 yard it was not unpleasant and didn’t linger. I can not attest to its water proof wear as its winter so we haven’t tested that aspect but there is snow out and she has been in the rain with any issues witch is why i am rating that at 5 stars as well.It doesn’t seem to be bothering her after a few days and this is the first time i have used or worn any flea collars with this particular dog. All in all I’m pretty happy with the product and i believe that it’s a fairly good price for what you’re getting. I think this compares well with higher priced products we’ve used with past dogs when ticks or fleas have been bad. I would recommend giving it a try if your In the market for a collar over drop or oral flea and tick medication

Works ,but not for six months
This collar is time released and I like that I’m not dumping all the chemicals in one spot on my dog’s back. It is very effective the first two months, but then it begins to weaken. I began to find ticks attached, but dead. By the end of the fourth month a new collar is needed. I have been using this collar for the last three years. It is the only flea and tick collar I will put on my dog. I hate to use any chemicals ,but this collar seems to be the least toxic I can find.

*edit* 11/25/24After trying Tickless ultrasonic tick and flea repellent (worked really well for a few months, then I began noticing a ton of ticks on her), natural sprays, collars etc.I ended up having to go the non natural route and get a oral vet prescription for tick/flea treatment.I kept finding ticks on her even with all the natural “solutions.” Maybe someday a more natural solution will work, but those ticks are menaces.—————-Hi!For about 1.5 months we’ve used this in comination with this brands flea and tick 30-day drops.We wanted a safer and healthier flea/tick option for our family.It works so well! We have a homestead in Michigan and have only found 1 (unattached) tick on her since using this.I am curious if this color will last for the full 6 months, I’ll plan to replace at month 4. I will update the post if anything peculiar happens.

Well, I’ve purchased this collar several times over 6 months. The first and second were good. Lasted several weeks and kept the pest away.Unfortunately, the third and fourth collar paled in comparison of the first two.The last collar was brought Aug. arrived on the 14. Put it on her on the 15th after her bath the night before. Not even 2 weeks and the pest are taking over.If, you changed the ingredients PLEASE go back to what works. Now, I must find another ALL NATURAL collar that works. This one has failed!!!

Safe for all sizes, but This had a bit of an odor, it seemed like a good quality and was adjustable. Would hold up for a long time but I didn’t see that it did anything for my dog. We kept it on her and I don’t think it ever worked. She still kept itching with it on and it never relieved anything.
