Very well made and the kittens don’t mind traveling in them. In fact, they like the mesh to play and scratch on.The liner is super soft. One of our kittens likes to sleep in it when we have it out.

I blew off the instructions and began to set this carrier up to check out all of the bells and whistles. I will admit it took me a minute to figure out which end to open first to get results. Maybe I should have looked at the instructions, which came on a big, full color page, prominently positioned inside the wrapper with the carrier.All of the parts that were supposed to pop out did exactly that, creating a roomier space. More zippers to explore, I found it had rolled up “blinds” for all the cat privacy they could possibly imagine.The fabric seems sturdy and the stitching also. The firm fuzzy insert is a silky furry type fabric on top, with a cardboard plank inside to make it sturdy in the center portion. The two side flaps that extend into the pop out areas are not supported, I assume so that they can be folded under the center portion when the side rooms are folded and zippered back in.My three cats vary from beefy to portly, not to mention they are lengthy as well. I cannot in good conscience cram any of them into this medium carrier, which is my fault for ordering a medium.The only potential problem that I see is with the side spaces that pop out. When they are folded back in (you push the front side of it back into it flat against the bottom side, and then take those two together and fold them up and zipper them up), they create a large flap that flops from where they attach at the top inside of the carrier with the pet. And, those flaps also take up space, which may be less of a problem if I had smaller cats, or if I had gotten a larger carrier. Either way, I don’t particularly like them flapping around inside.It’s really a pretty neat design overall, and my rotund cats are curious about it. I’m sure the hate would be strong if I shoved them inside and zipped it up, their nose pressed against the screen. I often rescue kittens, and this would be perfect for transporting juvenile cats and keeping little kittens contained while tiny. As a matter of fact, it would be indispensable for that. It would also be perfect for small breed dogs.

Truly a gamechanger for airline travel
We own three cats and move every three years, which necessitates frequent veterinary visits for vaccinations and makes each move a significant undertaking. Following an unsatisfactory experience with a U.S.-flagged carrier, we now consistently travel with our cats in-cabin. We have tried various types of carriers, including backpack and duffel styles, and have found that providing expandable space is crucial for the comfort of the cats when waiting to board or between flights.Upon discovering this particular carrier, both we and our cats were impressed once it arrived. The carrier features solid craftsmanship and materials, featuring fold-down expansions on either side and pop-up top that effectively double its size. The zippers are robust, the floor is waterproof, and there are five entry points. Additionally, the aluminum frame maintains the rigidity of the central section during transport, ensuring the pet does not become crowded or anxious should the bag twist or collapse like many of the soft duffel-type carry-onsIn summary, we are highly satisfied with this product and are planning to purchase two additional units prior to our next move.

Surprisingly Nice
I was looking for a carrier for my oversized maine coon for a bit, one I could take him to the vet and back and not have him feel so cramped and enclosed. He travels ok, but it is not his favored activity. Hard sided cat carriers are bulky and awkward with a 15 lb cat inside. I came across this and figured I would give it a go and I have to say I am rather chuffed about how well it works.It is easy to use, had nice screened openings and a surprisingly plush liner that Potato seems to like. Yes, I named him Potato, he acts like one about 2/3rds of the time. A cuddly floppy potato with one brain cell.He can maneuver around easily within the carrier and likes peering out of the screen. The screen is nicer than a rigid carrier as he can full view of what is going on around him. He likes that and seems more relaxed. The sides extend out which he also seems to enjoy. I did not realize it had curtains for the ends you can unroll. Something we have not used yet, but i can see where it would be handy for giving a cat some more privacy/shelter.The liner can be washed, it unzips from the hard board. Something I like. And it is quite soft. The handles are sturdy, something I looked for with a carrier that carries an oversized potato. I am not sure I will ever use the shoulder strap. That seems awkward, but the small handles are nice.The only thing that I am not in love with is the zippers. They are plastic, and as a general rule, plastic zippers do not last long, the teeth do not hold up and they gap and bind easily. That said, the little clips to hold the zippers closed is incredibly neat. I really like that he cannot unzip the bag on his own once i clip the zippers together with the little buckle. The pockets are also a nice addition. I do not use them, but they are handy for someone who does a lot more traveling and wants to keep their pet’s stuff together in one place.The price point is a bit high in my opinion, but anything marketed for pets seems to be nowadays. This is cloth and nylon and plastic, it should, in my opinion, run around $40 tops. Not where it is set, but it doesn’t necessarily break the bank either.It is a good carrier, does what it says it does and seems sturdy enough to hold up to travel.
