Must have for cutting a dogs nails!
I am so happy I purchased this!! I have a 60lb mixed breed dog that has black and white nails so it’s very difficult to cut them without being able to see the nerve. I used to have a Chi guillotine clipper for her but it got tossed in the trash accidentally so I needed a replacement. I was nervous at first because another reviewer said that the grinder was loud and scared their dog but I am happy to report it is not very loud, just a high-pitched buzz which didn’t bother my dog. Compared to a Dremel rotary tool this is a lot quieter although I wish it had multiple speeds. The nail clipper part has sharp blades which makes it quick and easy to clip the nails and the catcher for the clippings is a nice touch as they usually just fling across the room. The grinder is easy to use with a simple slide switch and also has a removable cover as well as a guide for the nail. This tool makes it super easy to clip the nails and grind them to a nice rounded tip or just file down the nails where I can’t see the nerve. While I can’t speak to the long term quality of the unit as I’ve used it once the functionality of having two tools in one is great and it also costs less than the previous nail clippers that I had.

Great quality worth the buy for grooming at home
I have black dogs with black nails, so I am always afraid of cutting their quick. The light is helpful and not. It needs to be at a certain angle or it is blinding you. The dremel side is amazing. The nail cutting side is sharp and quick to use. Even though I intentionally bought it for the light, it is so fast to use on my squirmy dogs.

Love the light, charge hold, and overall use of this product
I purchased this product after getting a new kitten because I loved the addition of the light and the grinder. Her claws are a little too soft for me to use the grinder yet but the light is amazing. I have small hands so take this as you see fit but it is a bit hard for me to hold based on the size. The battery lasts forever on this thing and I would overall recommend it based on how well it works.

The light is a game changer!
Game changer! We were using cheap clippers and unfortunately they would bend our girls’s nails instead of clipping them. This clipper is strong and durable- she is a lab husky mix and it had no issue cutting. The light is a game changer and makes the process much safer because you can easily see the quick. Our girl didn’t like the buffer so we didn’t give it a try. I also love that it catches the clipped nails for an easy clean up! Worth the money and effective.

My husky was clicking and clacking on our hardwood floor, I knew it was time. The last time I trimmed a dogs nails I cut too far and hit the nerve, yelping and blood, and I felt so bad I haven’t done it in 10 years+. Well, I figured it’s a new day and a new age and amazon must have a better product available, and here it is. The light helps you see through the nail. The clippers cut through large dog nails pretty easily. The husky…well, he is fine just a drama queen. First paw he was nervous, but let me do it. Second paw he pulled, twisted, turned, kicked and screamed. A treat later and the second paw was done (no reaction to the cut so it didn’t hurt him). He got away from me and I had to drag him out from under the bed. Third paw done, treats dont seam appetizing to him anymore. Four and final paw, more noise and flailing about, but after a moment to let him calm I got it. The product worked great and bet my last dog (an Australian shepherd) would have enjoyed the process. If you need dog nail clippers get these, if you need a dog don’t get a husky. If you want a husky… you can have mine.

Too large and loud for small pets
Too bulky and higher decibels than I expected. They frighten my dogs instantly, that might be because they are sensitive rat terriers. The functionality looks fine for larger pets.

Works well
The light really didn’t help much but I still rate these 5stars. The Clippers are strong and go through the nails before you know it. The last pair I had were weak and would twist the nail before it cut. The Dremel on the other side works pretty well. Overall, pretty happy with these Clippers. I like the feature that the plastic container catches the nails.

Not for cats!
This is not good for cats.The blades are way too bigThe light is way too weakThe grinder is too big and vibrates too much for my two cats. I even tried it on my two foster cats and all four reacted the same. They jerked away when I touched it to their nails and were very scared of the shaking/vibration.It isn’t loud but shakes a lot.
