Keeps on going
Another review had complaints about the battery life, but I think it’s just a weird battery meter on the feeder… I put partially used batteries in the feeder nearly 3 months ago. The first day or two showed only one bar of battery life, and it’s been showing that the batteries are dead since then. It’s still running just fine after that, but I do try to check it a couple of times a day to make sure it’s still working. It’s so quiet that you won’t hear it turning, but the compartments are all numbered, so you can tell which one it’s on.This works great for my little dog that shouldn’t eat more than a little at a time. We divide the total food for the day into sixths, and then divide the time until the last desired feeding into fifths. We try to remember to turn it off after that.The size is great for traveling (nearly the same as our big dog’s dish).It comes apart easily for cleaning (kibble dust can get everywhere inside, including in the gears).

Decent feeder, kind of a hassle to program, base unit isn’t water-safe
I got two of these and ended up killing both of them by washing the base unit itself (which I admit you aren’t supposed to do!) and that ruined the electronics because they apparently aren’t sealed up in there at all.They operate on an interval basis, not on specific times, so you cannot tell it to feed the cats at any given time but only every 5 hours or whatever. They do not remember prior programming when turned off and back on again.Nonetheless I liked them and have ordered replacements. I not only used them when away from home but also I found it convenient to load and program them each morning for just 1 day’s meals, and then I was free from cat-feeding duty till the next morning.The clock isn’t very accurate, as other reviewers have noted, but that didn’t matter much to my cats so it’s not a bad problem. In all they deliver what they promise, so 4 stars.

Works really well, cat has not broken it
I use this to help my cat take her meds twice a day and it has been really great. She needs a medication every 12 hours, and sometimes I need to leave early or stay late at work, or be gone 1 or 2 nights. I was looking at a LOT of pet sitting costs. Instead, I set this for every 12 hours, put the meds in a pill pockets, put the pill/pocket in each compartment, and now my cat is trained to get a “treat” ever 12 hours whether I am home or not. The timer has worked consistly and I am very happy with battery life. My online issue is that the timer is a countdown for a certain number of hours or minutes (so 12 hours, for 24 you need to set 23.59), not a time on a clock, so you have to START the timer at the right time. Not a big deal, but I did accidentally hit a reset when refilling one time and had to wait several hours to go restart the countdown.It actually works well enough that I bought a second when I had a trip I was worried about travel delays for, and in case I did not get back in time it set my cat for 5 days – one in AM, one in PM. More than 3 or 4 is pushing it, but this was a family emergency and it was nice to know I had the option.Just keep in mind that the 6 compartments have 1 open compartment at all times, so you only have 5 timed releases and the first one is accessible.

1) This uses a countdown timer instead of a clock which means if you want it to feed at a certain time, you have to turn it on at that exact time and set it for 24 hrs. (If you turn it on at 9 pm and want it to feed at 6 am, you would set the timer to 09 hrs, but it does not reset to 24 hrs when the timer goes off, so at 3 pm it will rotate again, then midnight, and so on).2) The device cover turns instead of the food bowl/tray so you have to put it in the middle of an open floor if you don’t want your pet to have to stratch all the way across the device to eat, like they would be forced to do if it is placed against the wall or on the corner/edge of a counter/table.3) The food tray does not come out, forcing you to scoop all the food out of the trays if you have to clean it or change batteries.4) If you press the power button to turn it off to reset, you can’t use the power button to turn it back on for hours. You either have to take all the the food out of the trays and turn it upside down to take the batteries out or try to hold it right side up while you unscrew the battery cover.Also, the instruction book has no troubleshooting.I used Home Intuition before (for 5 1/2 yrs) and it was much better. Unfortunately, mine may have reached the end of it’s lifespan, and the product seems to be discontinued.If I had been home during the return period, I would have sent it back immediately.

This unit is a very well made, solid unit, made from very good materials and sturdy. It works exactly as described, however if your pet is very fastidious about eating times, this is not for you. The problem lies with timer. It should actually have a clock so that you can set it at specific times and not timer gaps. Also, it should be redesigned to have the bowl move inside and the gap stays in one position rather than having the cover move, as presently you have to place it in a position available to be approached from all sides which is rather inconvenient. For allrounder dry food supply it works ok, but I have mixed foods and I could just not get a syncing routine. A pity as it is really well made. It just needs a redesign.

Buy the brand with 5 trays and ice packs instead. This one is impossible to unlock to refill and doesn’t rotate if it is at all out of place. Makes no sense for the opening to spin around, I will go back to the feeder where the opening stays in the same place and the trays rotate inside.

Estupendo, adquirí este porque leí en comentarios que no hacía ruido como otros comederos automáticos que estuve viendo, no quería que mi perro se asustara, y este es fantástico, ha sido todo un acierto. Muy fácil de programar y eficaz, además por un precio adquirible.

Funciona bien, le cabe bastante comida. Funciona con pilas lo cual es bueno ya que asi tu mascota no puede morder el cable.
