Works great for codependent cats and codependent teens
If you’re wondering whether this Automatic Cat Feeder has improved our household, let me tell you a little story—because simply saying “five stars, works great” does not even scratch the surface of the emotional saga unfolding in my home.My teenage son has a cat. A very codependent cat. The kind of cat who looks personally betrayed if my son steps into another room, much less leaves the house. We used to joke that the cat was basically his furry, judgmental shadow… until this feeder arrived and their relationship somehow got even weirder and more intense.First of all, the camera quality is so clear that I swear I can see the cat’s individual thoughts. My son figured out how to adjust the 45° downward tilt so he can angle it perfectly for what I can only describe as their scheduled FaceTime therapy sessions. I’ll be sitting on the couch and suddenly hear him upstairs: “Hey buddy, are you eating? Are you being brave today?”The cat stares back into the camera like he’s on a dramatic soap opera. The feeder dispenses food, and the cat reacts like my son personally prepared him a Michelin-star meal. I have never seen such devotion between two creatures who are technically only connected by WiFi.The two-way audio has turned my son into the cat’s long-distance life coach. I’ve caught him checking the app between classes, whispering motivational nonsense like, “You don’t need validation from the dog. You are enough.” Meanwhile, the cat is sitting there purring at the camera like he absolutely did need to hear that today.Functionally, the feeder works beautifully. Reliable food dispensing, easy setup, strong WiFi connection, and the app is so user-friendly that even my son—who somehow loses his shoes in his own room—manages to run it flawlessly. The 5L capacity means I don’t have to refill it constantly, which I deeply appreciate because the cat gives me the stink-eye if I’m even a minute late.Bottom line: this feeder hasn’t just fed our cat. It has nourished the bizarre, heartfelt, teen-boy-to-cat emotional pipeline in ways I never anticipated.Five stars for the food accuracy.Five stars for the crystal-clear video.Five stars for enabling a cross-species friendship so dramatic that it probably qualifies as a YA novel.

This feeder has a lot of functionality for the money and provides great peace of mind!
Pros:- Good sized sealed storage – it holds five liters of kibble and keeps it fresh until dispensed.- The unit is sturdy and well built. My cats haven’t figured out how to knock it over and/or get into the food storage (at least not yet).- The hopper mechanism works well and dispenses just the right amount of food. I’ve had no issues with jams or false feedings (as far as I can tell – see ‘cons’ below).- Good video and audio quality.- Easy to set up and connect.- App is straightforward to use.- Straightforward to disassemble and clean.- No subscription required (at least not yet).Cons:- The camera doesn’t make it easy to see how much food is in the bowl or if food is actually being dispensed. (That said, the fact my cats are in front of the camera chewing gives me a pretty good idea….).- Audio generally works okay, but I have had it cut out from time to time.- The camera doesn’t function great in low light, and there’s no light or night vision capability.Overall, this feeder is a great buy with a lot of capabilities for the price. I particularly appreciate they aren’t trying to push a subscription model. It’s well made product and definitely makes me feel better about leaving my cats for extended periods!

The screen deveolped a huge smudge
I have to say, I was surprised by how light this automatic cat feeder was. I used to joke that if we ever got my big Bengal cat a cat feeder, she would probably knock it over to get the food. I’m worried she’ll be able to just do that.After 2 weeks of use, the LED screen developed a huge black smudge on the bottom. It takes up about 1/4 of the screen. The cat feeder works, but you have to use some janky software. Is the software a privacy nightmare? No idea. Do I suspect it is? Yes.When this has been set up, it works. It has a cool screen that can show your cat your face – my cat couldn’t care less. There’s a small camera built in that has a surprisingly good fish-eye view.Overall, this is a mixed bag. It works to feed your cat, but it’s cheaply made and ours broke after a few weeks.
