Durable, long lasting
I’ve bought this 3 times now over the last 5 years of owning my pup. He’s a “super chewer” and this toy is his FAVORITE thing on earth. He loves to play tug of war. He has loved this since he was a puppy, and each time it’s lasted for 2+ years. I’m only buying another one now so that my other dogs can play with it too. The last one I bought was in 2022, it’s still in near perfect condition, and he plays with it rough daily.

DID NOT EVEN LAST 2 HOURS
This was very disappointing as it did not even last 2 hours with our 8 month old lab. The really frustrating part is I spent twice as much as on the not name brand version and the not name brand version for $8 lasted 3 weeks compared to almost $20 and not even 2 hours. I had stopped buying Kong years ago and thought I would give them another try with this toy. It has firmly reminded me why I stopped buying Kong products years ago. They tend to be overpriced and don’t last even a fraction of the time that the ‘cheap’ knock offs last.

Indestructible!
My dog is a destroyer. Plush, squeaky chew toys last about a day. This Kong tug toy has been going strong for nearly a year. It’s great for playing tug, but she also will just lay there and chew on it for an hour. Highly recommend.

Okay, I do know that this is intended for playing tug-of-war with your dog. In fact, that’s why I bought it. I have 3 dogs and they all loved it right from the start. It was good for playing TOW with the two big dogs but the best part about this toy was yet to come. You see, one of our dogs is a lab mix puppy who’s being trained as an autism service dog. Because she’s going to be a service dog, she’s not allowed to “play” with the other dogs so she will learn to stay focused on the person she’s being trained to help. She loved to have a good game of tug but the toy kept disappearing. It didn’t take long to realize that the miniature daschund was sneaking that toy out and smuggling it into his own area. Since both dogs also enjoyed chewing on it, the easiest solution was to just cut it in half so they each had a chew toy. no money for a second oneWell! There in is the beauty of this toy. The daschund is a heavy chewer who can destroy even the toughest toy in a matter of hours. His motto: if it squeaks, it must die. If it has stuffing, it must be scattered everywhere. I had no idea such a small dog could be such a chewer. We’ve bought all kinds of toys for tough chewers that he just destroyed in record time. But he has been working on the red part of this toy for months now and loves it. Every so often he gets a small part off but he never tries to eat it. He just leaves it for some poor unsuspecting soul to step on barefooted. Gotta love that dog!So sure, the dogs can chew it and even chew it apart. But if you’re looking for a toy that your small dog will love and will stand up to some heavy chewing, I say this is the one to try. I’m back for another. It’s time.

Not very strong
My puppy broke this within 5 minutes, on his own without even playing tug. I’m sure it’s a great toy for some, but for my guy it wasn’t strong enough for even light play.

This is, by far, my dog’s favourite toy! We call it her “Tug” and all we have to ask is “where is your Tug” and she will happily run to find it! It is fun for both ends of the toy. We love it as a stress relief (and workout!!) and she loves the pulling and shaking aspect of it! It’s also super durable. When we first opened it up, we were worried that the fact that it was stretchy would mean it would fall apart easily. Nope! It is still going strong!
