Good quick reading thermometer
Relatively fast temperature time to readout. Flexible tip is nice to allow for pet movement reducing risk of injury. This is in the instructions, but good to know as unit comes configures for degrees Centigrade. To switch to Fahrenheit, press and hold power button until display shows dashes with a “C” (default setting) in upper right. Release and then quickly press power button to toggle to F.

Randomly drops temp and counts back up
I really do like this thermometer, it’s fairly quick and easy to read/clean, I had no issue switching it from C to F, but I bought it to be used to track my dog’s temps before whelping. 8/10 it reads fine. Randomly it will count up to 100.x and then just drop to 99.5 and start counting up again and sometimes stops around 99.6 or 99.8. Then I’ll take it again 3 more times because accuracy matters when you’re looking for a temp drop before whelping. I have found this to be the most frustrating aspect of the thermometer and I’m not sure if I possibly have one with an issue or if this is typical.

Instructions weren’t great but thermometer is!
As a vet assistant, I’m always on the search for a better thermometer. I have gone through 4 different kinds and haven’t been impressed. So far, this one passes them all up.Setup was tricky. There is only 1 button. You can’t turn it on and then hold the button again because anytime I touched the button a second time, it turns off. I unfolded the instructions and read them twice…no mention of how to convert from celcius to fahrenheit. I thought I was losing my mind! On the box, it says it converts. The instructions talk about it in fahrenheit but it comes in celcius. I had to snoop around the reviews to see if anyone else was having the same issue. I found how to convert in the reviews! While off, hold the power button down until it flashes and then you can switch it. Now that it is switched, no big deal and no need to dock a star. I just hope they revise the directions for future purchases.I tested it against my usual thermometer. I like that the numbers consistently count up so you can clearly see it working and not just wait in limbo for it to display. It read in about the same time as my usual does. The thermometers were within .1 degree of each other.The display screen is huge compared to others! The only bummer is once it is done reading, the backlight doesn’t light. If you are in a dim area and can’t see, shut it off and turn it back on and the backlight will come on with the last saved temp.One other thing about the instructions…it says it’s specifically for animals. Most small animals will read between 100 and 102 normal temp, but according to the instructions, it says it will mark anything above 100 as high and that could indicate a fever. Just don’t want anyone stressing out over a “high” reading for their dog or cat when it could be normal.Aside from the instructions (or lack of) I’m very happy with this thermometer.

Easy To Use Dog Thermometer!
I like this dog thermometer. It is easy to read and use. It cleans up nicely and functions well. It is of decent quality and value. If there was one thing that I don’t like about this thermometer is that it is not very fast. It does take a few minutes for the temperature to register but I still recommend.

I Couldn’t get a Fahrenheit reading..
This might be a nice little thermometer if it worked right.You must make sure to read the instructions so you know when the thermometer is ready to take a temperature. After about 8 seconds it will beep to alert you it has the temp.Here’s the problem.You are supposed to get readings in C° or F°. Your choice…The pic on the box shows F° but my thermometer came measuring in C°. There is only one button, the power button. I cannot find a way to switch to F°. I have read and re-read the instructions sheet and no where does it even talk about the C°/F° selection. The box also makes no mention of how to make the change.I’m disappointed that if I want to use it I will have to look up and convert every reading to F° before I know the status of my pets’ temperature.Because of my experience and in my opinion the cost is high for a standard digital thermometer, I cannot say I recommend it.

PRESS AND HOLD POWER BUTTON TO SWITCH TO FAHRENHEIT!!! This is super easy and once you switch to F it will stay that way. But it comes set to Celcius, C. I had to look the directions up on the product page to get the instructions as there were not any in the box. Super easy to switch once you follow the directions!!!This is the VERY BEST thermometer I have EVER used!!! I have had dogs and horses for 40 years and used so many, many thermometers. This one is BY FAR the very best!First off the display is HUGE and is so easy to read even without glasses on. You don’t have to be squinting at a tiny display while your dog or horse is moving around to get the temp reading. It is so large and easy to read. This feature itself makes this thermometer a must have! Next it is so quick! Only 8 seconds and you have the reading. This is amazing! Most other brands take at least a minute some take 2 minutes which doesn’t seem like long but when you have a wiggly puppy or a horse moving around 2 mintues is a lifetime! This thermometer takes the correct temp in just seconds every time. PERFECTLastly the flexible tip is great for wiggly dogs you don’t have any risk of injury to delicate areas because it will flex if the dog moves.Great product all around. Everyone with animals needs to have this thermometer!
