works well for my anxious pup.
best nail trimmer i have found by far. I was looking for something quick to do my pups nails. This fit that bill. My pup hates having her nails clipped, I think she was aggressively clipped as a baby, so she has some anxiety with her front paws. Clipping with traditional clippers was NOT an option, you’d think i was killing her with her screams. Even the vet refused to clip her nails. Fun… So i bought this and, although she does not love the procedure, she tolerates it with minimal fuss. The nails are a bit sharp after this, but with practice you will figure out how to taper the nails so they are less killers. I recommend this item.

Does the job
Good: Performs as advertised. Setup isn’t quite a no-brainer, the guard has three depth settings, and it takes a little fiddling of the disc position in the chuck and the guard depth to get everything properly aligned with the disc surface maybe an eighth of an inch below the guard. Once you have it set up, however, it works well. My dog isn’t quite used to it yet but she at least tolerates it on the lowest tool speed, and the discs cut reasonably quickly and smoothly. (Given that they’re just cut-down 60-gritsanding discs, this isn’t surprising.) Guard catches at least most of the dust and is reasonably easy to clean.Bad: It may be just the way my dog’s claws grow, but the trimming method described in the manual doesn’t work for us. I have to rotate the trimmer 90 degrees and get that elongated part completely out of the way for the disc to make contact.Bottom line: Both setup and usage take some practice, but it does work. You have to run the Dremel on its lowest speed, otherwise it makes a lot of noise and spooks the pet. You also have to avoid the temptation to go too fast. I keep getting impatient and putting too much pressure on the tool, which slows it down and heats up the claw, which is probably uncomfortable for the pet. (Plus, it smells awful.) But, with patience and a little practice, it works well. And replacement discs are like a dollar each. Five stars.

Nice
Bought this thinking it would be able to be used with my husbands dremel tool, but the guard didn’t fit the one he has. The sanding pads work great tho to trim our dogs nails and we don’t have to worry about clipping the nail too short. We use one pad for every time we do it and by the end the pad is done. Great value for the job to be done

Great for trimming big dogs nails!!!
Works very well if your dog is not scared of the Dremmel. Fits perfectly. Overall a great product. Would definitely buy again really helps with bigger dogs.

Not worth it as it’s too messy still
Great idea but it’s still too messy and easier to just clip.

Gives me security to not hit the quick.
This gives my so security when I am trimming my dogs dark nails.I love the depth guide. I just set, insert his nail and voila. He hates it so it makes it go fast.

Fantastic attachment; solves all issues using an unguarded rotary tool introduces.
Life. Changing. For a long-haired dog (Samoyed), especially with large feet and nails, it’s always been a battle not to get hair caught around the mandrel when using a sanding drum. This solves everything. The guard/cover keeps the hair away from all the spinny bits, and the sanding disk makes short work of even overgrown nails.Only downside is that it’s hard to smoothly contour the end of the nail with this tool. However, the otherwise useless (too small and not enough battery life for a large dog) rechargeable nail groomer I impulse purchased from an Instagram ad actually works well as a finisher, to take off the sharp edges.I just popped this on and had the most hassle-free nail trimming session I’ve had in six years with my pup—who absolutely hates any kind of foot grooming. My only complaint is that Dremel does not make an adapter ring so that this tool can thread onto their smaller-threaded 225 FlexShaft extension (they officially don’t support combining attachments). This is why I have a 3D printer…I can solve this.

Very fast way to trim dogs nails
This is MUCH faster than using those cheap stand alone nail grinding hand tools. It took like 2 minutes to do my dog’s nails. It also comes with the “EZ lock” thing which I think is $10 by itself. My only gripe is per the instructions you’re suppose to put the dog’s toe on the plastic angle and my dog (Doberman) could not do this as her toes are too big to grind and fit on the guard.

Both my big rough tough German Shepherds turn into little winy kids when it is time for grooming. With their nails being black, trimming them was especially challenging. All that changed with this fantastic Dremel attachment. Now nail trimmings are actually enjoyed! They have long seen me use my Dremel for other work, and are quite comfortable and careful around me when I am using my power tools. They have both see it work with a bit in the chuck and have become indifferent to its sound. With this attachment and a course (60) sanding disc running at a slow to medium setting (around 4 on my #300 model) both dogs are comfortable getting their nails “power filed”.Each has their own preferences – Max like a higher speed and lighter touch, while Fritz wants it slower and tries to shove his nail in. Both now see pedicures as a special 1-on-1 time where they are the pampered “star of the show.” Now the only problem is getting one to wait for the other to be finished. I have to swap dogs every paw or they fight to be next. LOL.I have ordered a rechargeable Dremel to dedicate to this task as there is not an outlet comfortably close to their couch, where they prefer to get groomed. That’s right I said “THEIR COUCH”. As my service dogs, they gave me my life back, so yeah, I have spoiled them with their own couch. If you visit, they will gladly share it with you, but they will also make it clear they own it.
