Peace of mind, low cost
I had been using an air tag on my dog’s collar in case he got out of the house, but learned that this will not provide accurate enough results to find my dog if he is lost! I wanted to try something else but the up-front cost along with subscription fees of competing brands was very high and I had been looking for different options. I wanted something convenient and in trying to find options that did not have a subscription fee, I found some units that would work but I did not want to use a handheld GPS unit to connect with my dog’s tracker– that sounded like a pain. I am glad I settled on this tracker and I like it a lot. It has Velcro to fit on multiple sizes of collars and it is small and secure on the collar. It charges wirelessly on a little charging pad that comes with it. It is super easy and can charge through the Velcro which is helpful so I can just slip it back on his biothane collar (for his e-collar) and it’s super easy. If it was a standard collar I think I would have to un-velcro it each time in order to charge it. The app is easy to use and see daily activity. The GPS tracker is a little slow to load (up to nearly a minute) but it is extremely accurate and gives me peace of mind that I can find my dog if he gets loose. And I don’t need a handheld unit, just my phone, which I always have with me anyways. There are some community features like showing common dog names etc. but I’d like to see more options there, possibly like most common places in my area where people walk and exercise their dogs. Overall, the app is very good. One snag was that when I first got the tracker (and admittedly did not read the directions right away), I downloaded the “petivity” app instead of the “petivity dog” and I was initially frustrated not being able to register my dog because “cat” was the only option. But customer service pointed out my mistake and I downloaded the correct app and had no issues. Who knew there were smart litter boxes for cats– which is what the other app was for. If you are looking to try a tracker for your dog, this is a low-cost option that will give you peace-of-mind knowing you have an accurate way to find your dog if lost. And seeing their daily activity is helpful for a reminder to get myself in gear too, and do more walks!

My Dog is a “Putterer”
The tracker took about 7 days to arrive and was pretty straight forward on how to setup using the app and syncing the device. The tracker attached around the collar and was easy enough to figure out which size attachment band to use between the 2 that were included in the box. My dog seemed fine with the tracker on as it never seemed to get in the way while eating or playing. Although I was concerned that the tracker could fall off the collar with rough play over time. The app was fun and showed how many steps,how many mins she played,we thought it was hilarious when we saw that she apparently spends hours a day “puttering” Good word for what our dog does though,lol. The 2 things that I wasn’t crazy about regarding the app was our dog took a lot of steps in the house that said she walked miles,I’m not sure if that’s accurate and then when I used the gps tracker it would take a few mins to locate our dog. That said it was accurate and would show where I am on the map and also my dog if we were in different places. Overall I think the tracker is a good product and useful for some. If you like data and want to see how many steps your dog takes or how many minutes of exercise they’ve gotten and maybe use the tracker to locate them then this Petivity Tracker will work fine. The app doesn’t crash and is easy to navigate
